The NDIS aims to support you to have “an ordinary life”, which in the context of the NDIS means to:
- Have and maintain good relationships
- Belong and participate in your community
- Be involved in making choices about your own life
The NDIS legislation includes a description of the supports the NDIS can fund in your plan to enable you to lead “an ordinary life”. These supports need to meet the criteria of ‘Reasonable and Necessary’ and this mini eBook considers questions such as:
- Will the support help you achieve your goals?
- Are they related to your disability?
- Do they represent value for money?
- Will they enhance relationships and community participation?
This mini eBook also provides examples of reasonable and necessary supports and an outline of what the NDIS will not fund.
