We are Support Plus
Support Plus is a digital platform that helps individuals and their support networks document whole-of-life needs and create a personalised plan for care. It makes it easier to capture and share important details - especially those we often avoid talking about - so care remains consistent and dignified, even when life changes.

Why we do it
Caregivers often worry about "what happens to my loved one, if something happens to me?".
Support Plus solves this issue with a user-friendly future plan via an online, personalised dashboard designed to provide a guide for day to day use, or when a comprehensive handover to a new caregiver is required. Unlike traditional pen-to-paper methods, the online dashboard is a living document that can be updated on the go from your phone, tablet, or desktop, capturing everything in real-time.

Discovering a love for rowing during school, I embarked on a career in the sport immediately after graduating. For the past 13 years, I have been deeply involved in the rowing community, serving on various State Teams, club committees and subcommittees. Currently, I am serving my second term as a Board member for Rowing South Australia, Chair of Clubs and Schools, and member of the Inclusion, Diversity & Wellbeing committee.
In January 2022, my father had a stroke. I recognised the importance of family and made the decision to step back from my rowing commitments to support my father. Through this experience as his carer, I gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced by individuals navigating the NDIS and realised the critical need for Future Planning.
Motivated by my personal experiences, I helped found Support Plus, a comprehensive central hub for all information and education associated with the individual, making any transition of care easier than ever before. My goal for Support Plus is to ensure as many people as possible living with disability and their support networks have a Future Plan in place, allowing caregivers the freedom to take breaks, travel and attend to personal needs while ensuring the care needs remain consistent.

Upon completing my medical degree, I pursued a PhD at Oxford University, followed by specialisation in acute medicine.
My interest in public health has given me the opportunity to work in and with different cultures across the globe. Consequently, I have come across people from all walks of life living with varying levels of disability and have seen first-hand the unique medical and socio-cultural issues they face.
I'm particularly proud of my time serving as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Public Health Officer for South Australia - I had the opportunity to navigate our state through some difficult times, including the swine flu pandemic. During that time, I championed innovative technologies and helped establish SA Health's first electronically based medical records system. I was also fortunate enough to lead the establishment of the South Australian Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health. I have always been passionate about innovation and how technology can transform healthcare delivery.
Now I've retired, I’m passionate about supporting the vision of Support Plus, a program designed to empower people living with disabilities and ensure that everyone can live life to their fullest potential.

Following my graduation, I took the helm of our family business for over 25 years before venturing into online trading. Seeking a more balanced life, I indulged in passions like golf and surfing. Transitioning once again, I immersed myself in boat building for 14 years, while actively contributing to South Australia's rowing community.
My commitment to community welfare led me to serve on the board of Youth Benefits Ltd for 18 years, including eight years as Chair, where we spearheaded projects aimed at benefiting the youth.
However, life took an unexpected turn when I suffered a stroke in 2022, reshaping my journey. Now, as a participant in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), I've embraced advocacy, striving to break down barriers and promote disability awareness.
My mission is clear: to share my experiences, advocate for those living with disabilities, and emphasise the importance of future planning. Through resilience and determination, I've learned that life's challenges can become catalysts for meaningful change.
